There is a very comfortable guest sitting room with a supply of local maps and guide books and free wi-fi facility throughout the house.
The house is fully double-glazed and sympathetically decorated in period colours with a contemporary accent. It is comfortably and stylishly furnished and has an informal and relaxed atmosphere. There are many original paintings, ceramics and other artworks by local artists throughout the house.
The house is set in its own large landscaped and walled garden with a terrace to the rear of the house and secluded at the bottom of the garden is a specially built structure housing an infrared sauna and treadmill together with secure bicycle storage. The stunning views from the back of the house look to the west over the Lowther Valley and Northern and Eastern Fells. There is ample off-road parking for 3 or 4 cars at the front of the house.
There are three bedrooms in the house all furnished and decorated to the highest standards. All three bedrooms offer supremely, comfortable bespoke beds, with luxurious white Egyptian cotton sheets guaranteed to give you a goodnight’s sleep. All have en-suite facilities with toiletries from The Bath house of Sedbergh, wall mounted TVs, DAB radios, a variety of teas, coffee, fruits and biscuits with arm chairs and coffee tables.
We provide our own bottled still and sparkling water in glass bottles so not to further impact on the environment.
Breakfast is served in The Garden Room where there are separate tables for each of the 3 bedrooms, with a full breakfast menu available from 0830 to 0930, but this can be flexible on request. We use only the finest ingredients sourced locally for all our breakfast items, including the Full Whitrigg Cumbrian Breakfast. A varied range of quality juices, cereals and fresh fruits together with freshly made leaf teas or freshly ground coffee are also available. Please advise any special dietary requirements at time of booking. All our crockery was made by local potter, Mary Chappelhow, in nearby Brougham Hall.
Whitrigg House and Harrison House are both No Smoking properties.
